Having sampled dozens of rental properties through the years, I would say this is easily in the top 3. To be fair, this isn't a rental, it is a home. Beautifully designed, perfectly situated, and incredibly comfortable. It is a true homage to ADK life and we were fortunate to have the chance to stay.
We've been staying in Lake Placid w/ a rather large group (10 guests +/-) for >20yrs. Circumstances prohibited us from using the home we've used previously & Merrill Thomas was able to place us in the Sentinel Views Townhome which was GREAT! I was pleasantly surprised by the size (given that it was a townhouse & not a stand-alone home) & it fit our needs perfectly, especially w/ a 4th full bathroom. We'd definitely stay there again & if you have a sizable group, this will fit your needs perfectly.
We really enjoyed our stay, the condo had everything we could need, perfect for 2 couples. Kitchen was great - a good space to hang out at both the table or the island. Living room had plenty of space too. We had a great time there - wouldn't change a thing! Thank you for your hospitality, would absolutely stay again.
This is our fourth stay at SonShine and perhaps our 10th rental with the team at Merrill Thomas. Of the >30 years our extended family has gathered together for a week in the 'dacks there is no property that is a beautiful, and as perfectly situated as SonShine. And as always Merrill was uber responsive to any questions or needs, prior to or during our stay!! We had an incredible time and hope to be able to secure another week at this gorgeous home in 2027.
