Gorgeous custom-built Adirondack home tucked down a long driveway on a peaceful 30-acre wooded setting. With 1100’ of frontage on the renowned West Branch of the Ausable River, this property is a dream fly fishing retreat, but also six minutes from world class skiing at Whiteface Mountain ski resort, mountain biking, and a short drive from High Peaks hiking and all the beauty and year-round outdoor adventures that the Lake Placid area has to offer.
The tastefully decorated 3-bedroom, 3-1/2 bath home sleeps 8-10 guests (depending on the season) and offers spaces for family and friends to relax in comfort on three levels. The sun-filled, two-story great room features a soaring stone fireplace, built-in dining area, lots of comfortable seating and plenty of space for games and puzzles. The well-equipped gourmet kitchen features a large prep/dining island, as well as high-end stainless-steel appliances including a 6-burner gas range, two ovens, a refrigerator and extra cold food storage drawers. A wrap-around screened porch off of the kitchen and breakfast area has a built-in gas grill, and separate dining and seating areas with custom-designed rustic furniture - perfect for drinks, dinner or just reading a book. The main floor of the house also features a mudroom, powder room and a charming queen bedroom with en suite bathroom.
The second floor features a queen master bedroom suite including a walk-in closet, large bath with soaking tub, and a screened sleeping porch which puts you up in the trees. The sleeping porch has a queen bed. There is also a loft area with plush seating, widescreen smart tv and a desk, for your work from home needs. The house has excellent Wifi and 500 Mbps internet service.
The lower level features a large family room space with a very comfortable queen sleeper sofa, a gas fireplace and an entertainment system with a large movie screen and projector that can be run from a laptop, and surround sound system with Bluetooth capabilities. There is also a welcoming queen bedroom and a bathroom with sauna, perfect for after a long hike or a day on the slopes, as well as a gym area and laundry room.
Beautiful in every season, this getaway property features private walking trails through the forest and down to the Ausable River, two cascading brooks, perennial and vegetable gardens, and a picturesque barn (for owner’s use only). Enjoy evenings gathered on Adirondack chairs around the fire pit by the cozy Adirondack lean-to or enjoying the wrap-around front porch or patio behind the house.
